Honda Accord keeps blowing fuse and won't start

For the last few years, we have occasionally had trouble starting it. Recently we had to put a new fuse in the starter. The battery had to be replaced--we got credit because it was within the warranty time. Now it has a brand new battery, but it won't start again. When the key is in the ignition, the lights work, but the car won't start. When we got the new battery, the mechanic said it wasn't the starter. We don't know what to do. It has about 207,000 miles on it.

SOURCE: 1995 Honda Accord will not start

First you must check to see what missing. You must have spark at the pugs and gas at the injector for this car to start. See whats missing and get back to me. The 1995 Honda Accord has a history of bad distributor. If there is no spark at the spark plugs replace distributor. However on some models the coil is separate and not in the distributor, if so make sure the coil is working.

SOURCE: where is the starter relay on a 94 Honda Accord

Yes, it sounds like your solenoid is bad and staying engaged against the flywheel, you could do an amperage draw and a voltage drop test to find out for sure, but you will need an DVOM and a amp clamp. Or you could take it into an auto parts store and they will test it for free. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: 98 Accord won't start

Check the main relay-PGM-FI Main Relay, called a fuel injector relay(a gray little box with a plug at the end). To make sure it is a bad relay, do this: Turn the key to II, listen for a humming sound from behind you. It is a fuel pump working. You should hear a click under the dash after it. It is a main relay click . If you do not hear a click, you car will not start. If you do hear a click, you car will start.
Fix is to take the relay out, resolder the joints and put it back in. Go on www. MarkLamond.co.uk and http://techauto.awardspace.com both sites will show you how to resolder the main relay and where it is located if it is the PGM-FI Main relay.

CALL YOUR LOCAL DEALER!! there is a interlock update on the car... try that first.. but the the sensor in the shift might be bad.. you can unplug it to check if that's the problem it's under the center councel ... if your looking down at the shifter it's on the left side you can actual reach your had undter the plastic on the driver side and unplug it (by the carpet) just take out the one or two screws on the side by the carpet and i think it's a single wire up along the left side of the shifter...

SOURCE: replace starter in 2004 honda accord

Try 'jiggling' the key while you hold it in the start position' this could be a failed ignition switch.
It could also be that the + terminal on the starter or starter solenoid may be corroded. Since the battery was just replaced, those terminals are probably clean enough but check the negative cable where it attaches to the chassis or block. If the connection is flaky here, enough current can often pass to allow lower current devices to operate but drop too much voltage if the starter is trying to operate. Starters require 100-200 amperes, many times higher than anything else in our vehicles and show up cruddy connections pretty quick.

1998 Honda Accord Won't Start

Park neutral safety switch maybe be the reason for the no crank ! Try putting the vehicle in park ,then try to crank the engine . Testing the electrical circuit is the best way to trouble shoot this problem , along with do a voltage drop test on the starter circuit ! This will test the battery cables an connections .
Starter Voltage Drop
How to voltage drop test starter motor circuit
Does it have a manual or automatic transmission ? Manual ? clutch switch . Looking at a wiring diagram I also see a starter cut relay !

I have a 92 honda accord and it keeps dieing

Fuel pump relays are a common problem with Hondas.
I would check the fuel pressure when it won't start.
You may also have a problem with the fuel filter or the pump.
There is a long list of possibilities.
Is the check engine light on ?

1994 Honda Accord DX radiator is blowing out antifreeze and car won't start.

Pull the plugs out and then crank the engine over if water comes out of the plug holes you have a busted head gasket which would give you compression in the coolant system thusblowing out antifreeze as well as overheating.

My daughters 1998 honda accord ex keeps blowing fuses she is having to replace the brake light fuse after we replaced the brake light switch when she changed the fuse last the horn blew and she was shocked...

The horn and rear brake lights are on the same fuse. Eventually the horns rust out like on my 1998 CRV. Once I replaced the horns, I could put in a new fuse without it blowing every time I sounded the horn. Problems still remain, namely: the cruise control does not engage and the remote start only starts the engine that runs for two seconds then dies. Still looking for an answer. It's a "Code Alarm" with Codestart dated 11/24/99.

2003 Honda Accord blows cold airwhen started up but quits.

IF THE SYSTEM IS LOW ON FREON, THEN AFTER RUNNING FOR A FEW MINUTES THE LEVEL OF LIQUID IN THE ACCUMULATOR DROPS AND SHUTS OFF THE COMPRESSOR. YOU MAY JUST BE LOW ON FREON. HOPE THIS HELPS. THANKS FOR AN HONEST RATING AND FOR USING FIX-YA. BEST OF LUCK. PLEASE KEEP ME POSTED.

Keep blowing ECM fuse on 90 honda accord

I'm thinking the ECM is bad and grounding out, causing the car to blow the fuse. The old gas wouldn't cause this problem.

Automatic transmission slipping 1994 honda accord

there are a few things to do b4 getting new tranny. i would first think of when the last time it was serviced was,if more than 2 or 3 years or 25000 miles since then have it serviced first for a few hundred dollars if you pay someone or about 65 if you do it.just change the filter and pan gasket and refill with appropriate fliud and amount.keep in mind this is only if you havnt drove it much since it started slipping...if it has slipped for more than a few days get a used or new one or have that rebuilt.
