I just bought this car today. i have to really push on the break 2 or 3 times reallt hard to come to an actual stop and when i do the car shakes really bad.
First of all I would get them brakes looked at that is very dangerous, then I would worry about the shaking.

It sounds to be a vacuum leak. if the brake pedal is hard to push that is not vacuum pressure. take to car a part store and they will scan it for fre
Sounds like a really bad vacuum leak, and or possibly a dead spark plug or wire. Check under the hood for a hissing noise. Broken, loose or missing vacuum line. Change spark plugs and wires.

Use an OBDII scanner, some auto parts stores will do this for you free of charge.
Codes P0300 through P0306 indicate mis-fire and you may also get codes reflecting Cat damage from running that way.
I know of one TL from this series (2000 3.2 TL) which had a warranty REPLACEMENT OF TRANSMISSION!!! free of charge and this very problem was solved. I still do not know why they were related. Talk to Acura customer relations about this.

I don't know if the brakes dragging would cause the shaking or not but I will ask a question or two.
Does the car steer to the right or left when you apply the brakes? This would be caused by any leaking fluid or if one side is dragging heavily. This is because when the brakes heat up too much they begin to fade and loose there stopping power. If one side is dragging the car will pull to the other side when you apply the brakes.
You need to make shure that the brakes are clean and dry. Free from all grease or break fluid.
If a wheel is dragging the rotor will overheat and will cause "Blueing" of the rotors or they will look like they have small cracks in them.
Also did the shaking start imediatly after all the work or did it take a while?

This is a common complaint on thise vehicles. There is a TSB that involves replacing motor mount brackets and adjusting and neutralizing mounts,I have done this TSB several times. It will improve the issue but not eliminate it. Basically it is a characteristic of this vehicle. At the time Ford didnt have very good luck making the 4 cyl engines run smooth. The vibration wont affect the long term durability of the engine

the car lot tried to tell me the car shakes cuz there is a hole but my bf thinks it is the coil.
a hole in what. please have a part store scan it for codes and let my know. a car lot can not sell a car that needs repairs. all cars have to run great and past emission test. I have been repairing cars over 20 years
Yes I would hook up a scan tool and read the codes stored in the computer but, I might think about returning the car sounds like a headache.
