Electircal issue with 2003 liberty rear wiper

Not sure but I think I have some expsoed wiring somewhere, when rear lights or brakes lights on the rear wiper starts, as soon as lights closed or brakes off wiper stops.
Since the fuse operates both frnat and rear I cannot disengage, is there a plug for the power for the rear wiper motor?

SOURCE: The two back brake lights went out at the same

Both of my brakelights have gone out on my 2005 jeep liberty. The problem is the brakelight socket. I bought replacement socket from the dealership for about $8 each. They are wireless and easy to replace. They sit on a circuit monted to the back of the tailight. The dealership will need your vin # as there are different types of sockets for the liberty.

Check fuse number 9 a 50 amp fuse in the power distribution center under the hood and fuse number 17 a 15 amp fuse in the junction block . The ground wire near the wiper motor may be bad and its possible the switch position for the rears may be bad.

Jeep Liberty '03...need to repair rear window washer/sprayer and probably tube....that snapped off. Parts needed? Access through bumper?? Thank you for ANY suggestions.

Not so simple procedure, try and follow all your steps and replace all screws...Not familiar much with the Liberties but, usually access to the wiper will be somewhere in the back of the hatch. You can pretty much figure it out from there.

HOW DO YOU REPLACE THE REAR WIPER MOTOR ON A 2003 JEEP LIBERTY?

REMOVAL
  1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
  2. Remove the rear wiper arm from the rear wiper motor output shaft.
  3. Using a small thin-bladed tool, gently pry at the notch in the base of the rear wiper motor output shaft bezel to unsnap the nut cover from the bezel .Be certain to take proper precautions to protect the outer tailgate panel and its paint finish from damage during this procedure.
  4. Remove the nut that secures the rear wiper motor output shaft to the outer swing gate panel
  5. Remove the bezel and gasket from the rear wiper motor output shaft.
  6. Remove the trim panel from the tailgate inner panel.
  7. Disconnect the tailgate wire harness connector for the flip-up glass ajar switch from the flip-up glass latch connector receptacle.
  8. Disconnect the tailgate wire harness connector for the rear wiper motor from the motor connector receptacle
  9. Loosen the two screws that secure the rear wiper motor mounting bracket to the top of the tailgate inner panel.
  10. Slide the rear wiper motor and mounting bracket forward far enough to disengage the two mounting screws from the keyed slots in the top of the tailgate inner panel.
  11. Remove the rear wiper motor and mounting bracket from the tailgate as a unit.

Rear lights, brake lights and turn signals do not

I would check if they also run off of a relay, You could have a wire that is either broke or it is grounding out somewhere.

Wiper fuse keeps blowing

Lets deal with the fan. Only two things can cause a fuse to pop. A short in the wiper motor. Unplug the connector on it. It the fuse does not blow now you need a wiper moter. If it still blows the positve wire going to the motor is touching medal somewhere. You will need to inspect the wire going from the fuse block to the wiper motor. . Also sounds like you have no power to the brake switch.. Another fuse issue or a broken wire somwhere before where you bypassed the switch

Brake light and turn signal light not working

Did the new lens come with new sockets? If not damage may have occured there that you cant see. only other possibilty is wiring damage in the rear that may be hard to see. The condition you describe is simple "backfeeding" if you look hard enough youll either find bad sockets or damaged wires close to the lens that took the hit. Hope this helped. Thanks

2003 Jeep Liberty rear wiper does not work

If there is a separate switch for the rear wiper there might be a separate fuse. Check to see if your rear window cleaner works. If it doesn't check your fuse. If it does work i suggest that you replace the switch or check the connections of the switch. I hope this helps.
