Your ECU is what acctivates your fuel pump realy. Put the key on the run possition and pull the ecu fuse for a few seconds and reinstall it ans it should accivate your realy for 5 seconds, Good luck.

The fuel pump relay is located Under hood, driver side, upper firewall, mounted in relay block.

The fuse is located under the instrument panel to the left of the steering column. The fuse block should be visible from underneath the steering column, near the pedal bracket. If the panel is not visible, check for a removable compartment door or trim panel which may be used on later models to hide the block.

Make sure the ground is good, that truck was known for a bad connector near the Trannie cross member. Find your plug at fuel pump,4 wires..2 black, gray and purple. Black and purple are for the float. Gray is power to pump, black with yellow is ground for pump. When key is turned grey wire gets power check good ground . If power and grounds are good replace pump if not fix ground or replace relay

My 1998 monte carlo runs as long as u put gas down the multi thing changed the fuel filter wat could it be gas goes threw the filter

Is the fuel pump turning on? You should hear a 2 or 3 second buzz or hum from the rear (the pump will be on for that long) when you turn the key to on. If you hear nothing, check the fuel pump fuse, could be in the fuse panel inside the car, or under the hood in the relay/fuse box.
If you don't hear it, the pump may have failed. To be certain, one needs to check if there is any gas under pressure at the engine. Or one could check for power at the fuel pump connector when the engine is being cranked over-if power there, but pump does not work, pretty certain it is a failed pump-tank will have to be removed to change the pump.
If the pump is working, next thing to check would be the fuel injectors and injector circuit. There should also be a fuse for the injectors-probably in the under hood fuse box.

Gas gauge quit working, now car won't start

Sounds like you dont have any power going to your fuel pump. You will have to drop your tank and with a light tester check the red wire for power. If you cant tell with one is the red wire it will be the secound wire going into the plug. If you dont have any power there then make sure your fuses are good. You will need help with this because it is very had to reach the key switch and check the wire the same time. It is on a relay switch and only stays on for 5 secounds. Good luck.

1998 chevy k 2500 cranks but wont start ,

See if you're missing fuel or spark.
Does the fuel pump buzz for about 2 seconds when the key is first turned to ON? Do you have about 60psi of fuel pressure? Are your fuses good?
Then you can probe injector wires and have the ignition module tested at an Auto Zone.

Pull a coil wire, do you get spark? Do you have power to the coil? Again, test the ignition module.

Have no voltage to fuel pump. have checked fuse, relay, and replaced fuel oil pressure switch. still nothing

You are checking on the gray wire at the pump.
This wire will ONLY have power for 2 to 3 seconds after key is turned to run position after key has been OFF for 10 seconds.
.....or when there is oil pressure.
If you do not have power under these conditions.....run a new FUSED power wire to the pump/pump wiring that has only power when the key is on.
The other way to fix this is usually a rewire of the relay center/fuse box to supply power to the fuel pump relay when the key is on.
