SOURCE: 2001 cavalier codes

P0621 - indicates a failure in the alternator lamp curcuit.
P0304 - indicates a miss fire was detected in the #4 cylinder
U1040 - indicates a loss of communication with the ABS system
U1000 - Indicates a class 2 communication loss

None of those codes are relating to a transmission failure (P0700-P0702)

I would have a visual look at the transmission and verify that all electrical wires are connected and tight. Then I would have the transmission serviced if it hasn't been within the last 35,000 miles.

Have the trouble codes cleared and address the ones that return.

After that you may be looking at an internal transmission adjustment and/or repair.

Good luck.

SOURCE: engine reset light on 2003 gmc envoy

The service engine light you refer to is telling you you have a problem with the computerrized engine control of the car. When the light comes the computer stores a numerical code that can be retrieved with a scan tool or code reader. If you are not experienced with diagnostics you need to take the car to a mechanic, because sometimes a code can fool you and you can change a good part.An example of this would be reading a code that the oxygen sensor is reading a lean condition setting the light on. but the real issue is a bad fuel pump not supplying enough fuel to the engine. On the code alone you would be inclined to change the sensor when it was not the problem.

SOURCE: 2003 chevy suburban keeps dying

Check Fuel filter change if it hasn,t been changein a while also check fuel pump relay may be bad (clicking on and off )therefore shutting pump down. If all is well with above items. then the camshaft position(this provides reference for injector pulse) sensor may be at fault. Good Luck, contact if you need more help.

P0014 and p1345 codes

Hello billscranese,

The P0014 is a cam phasing code. The phasing system is a hydraulic actuated phase shifting system and is vulnerable to dirty oil. If its been sometime since your last oil change I would recommend that you start with that. The control module turns off the MIL after 3 consecutive ignition cycles that the diagnostic runs and does not fail.

The P1345 could be caused by the P0014. The powertrain control module monitors the correlation between the crank and cam positions and if the deviation between the two exceeds a predetermined amount it will set the code.

Good luck.

2004 envoy sounds as if it has no oil. no oil lights are on though. where should the oil pressure gauge be ? the need is in the middle. It sounds as if it is riding hard. I remember a car I had that...

The Envoy's oil pressure gauge is not showing actual oil pressure, the computer calculates the reading based on engine RPM and the on or off signal from the oil pressure switch. You need to first check the oil level on the dipstick, than have a mechanic put a manual oil pressure gauge on the engine to read the actual oil pressure.

What service should be performed at 90,000 miles on a 2003 GMC Envoy XL?

I would look into a tune-up as the spark plugs are a common cause of issues on this vehicle. I would at the very least remove the plugs and inspect them. If they are fine then it may be a clogged fuel filter.
Check the coolant and oil level
