SOURCE: Tail/brake light bulb replacement 2004 Olds Alero

In the trunk, in the rear corners, you'll see some plastic "caps" with tabs on them, similar to wing nuts. Remove those, and the taillight comes right off the back of the car. That will allow you to replace the bulbs.

How do you do a tune up on a 2004 Alero

What motor? a 2.2 will have the spark plugs under the cover in the center of the valve cover. About all you can do is replace the spark plugs. A 3.4 should be self explanatory. Follow the wires to the spark plugs located near the exhaust manifolds. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using FixYa.com!

My car has been idling low. i have changed the plugs.

Usually when you change the plugs that you also should change the distributor cap and rotor as well. When you changed the plugs with hopefully with the Alero specifications type manufacturer spark plugs that you have to also change the timing belt too is why your idling is low. All spark plugs have a gap in them so your car special plugs should too. You might have the wrong spark plugs with the wrong gap in them so you can ask autozone for the gap specs for your year, make and model plus you can buy the right spark plugs there too. The spark gap will change the timing of car depends on the gap.
