if it still runs loosen distributor bolt but dont take out start engine turn just little to get into time and if wont start pull distributor up rotate tooth the rotor should face number one piston
Can you take the valve cover off and turn the crank until the number one valve closes, then check the rotor on the dist ? TDC for number one cyl is when that intake valve closes. I assume you checked the compression and all 6 cylinders are ok ? If you have compression and the valve timing is close, you should be able to turn the dist and get it to backfire or something if the ignition timing is the only problem.
Pull a plug wire and have some one crank the engine as you observe the end of the plug wire for spark DONT HOLD IT IN YOUR HAND WILL ITS CRANKING lay it next to metal if there is spark you will notice it arcing against the metal they do make a tester to do this but if you dont have one laying it next to metal will do. If you have no spark could be your crank sensor has gone bad if you have spark and it still doesnt start could be your timing has jumped.Have the codes extracted and see what it tells you good luck to you.
is it possible the rotor is in the wrong position remove cap and rotor and flip the rotor 180 degrees and you might get lucky hope this helps good luck
See if the rotor is turning with the cap off if rotor turns then check the coil for voltake, if the rotor does not turn you have a broke or slipped timing belt/chain.
check spark plugs or spark pug wires. These are the most common issues with no spark. 2. check all fuses. 3. check ground or battery cables. If ground is bad it can cause a no spark. Motor turns? or ROTORs TURN? If motor turns your getting spark.
