Only a few import cars have access panels.
Most american made cars require the gas tank to come out to get to the pump.

SOURCE: how to replace fuel pump on 2002 impala

My 2002 Impala has the panel in the trunk. I took the panel off and the fuel pump is accessible. I will probably attempt to replace the fuel pump myself since the fuel gauge does not work anymore and the dealership indicated that the problem was the fuel level float connected to the fuel pump.

Does anyone know if there is anything special I need to do prior to replacing the fuel pump, such as draining the fuel, etc...? I was planning to at least run the car until I was near empty.

FYI, here is a link to a set of videos about replacing fuel pumps. It's a set of 13 short video clips.

Do I have to remove the gas tank to replace the fuel pump on a 1999 chevrolet venture van?

Look in the rear of the van, under the carpet. See if there is an access panel above the fuel tank. If not, yes you will have to drain and remove the fuel tank.

Have you checked other things to be sure it is the fuel pump? Fuel pump relay? Fuses?

Do i need to drop the fuel tank in my 1991 toyota corolla to replace the fuel pump?

Unless there is an access panel above the fuel pump, yes you will have to drop the fuel tank. Look at the location of the fuel tank and how that corresponds to the vehicle. This will tell you where to look for an access panel. If you must drop the tank, then siphon as much fuel as possible out of the tank before removing it. You can purchase a very inexpensive hand pump at most auto parts stores.

1992 Cevy Corsica: Boiling over out of overflow? Gage Normal

This can happen if you have a blown head gasket...cylinder pressure enters the cooling system, driving the coolant out. To check this have a shop do a hydrocarbon test for the cooling system. Problem can also be caused by a bad cap, so check that first.

Fuel Plump does not seem to run.

If it is directly above the fuel tank then yes, otherwise you will need to drop tank out after draining fuel by siphoning it out safely...

How do you remove a petrol pump from an audi coupe

It is mounted on the inside top of the fuel tank. If there is no access panel above the fuel pump inside the car, then you will have to remove the fuel tank in order to get to the pump for replacement. Pump as much fuel out of the fuel tank as possible before removing the tank.
