Transport Canada Recall # 2007169Recall Date:2007/05/30Notification Type:Recalls AuditSystem:AirbagManufacturer Recall Number:G09Units Affected:51,000Category:MinivanRecall Details:On certain vehicles the left or right front supplemental airbag sensors may crack under certain conditions, which can allow water to enter into the sensor. This can cause the airbag warning lamp to illuminate. A malfunction of one or both of the supplemental sensors will not adversely affect safety or cause a failure to comply with government standards. The single-point sensor in these vehicles, which is located in the airbag control module, is operational even if both supplemental sensors are inoperative. DaimlerChrysler has decided to launch a Customer Satisfaction Notification to advise customers that these front airbag sensors will be replaced with redesigned sensors to reduce the potential for damage. This action is not being conducted under the Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
You can reset the light by disconnecting the battery fro 15 minutes and then reconnecting it. If the light comes back on you will have to go to the dealer for a fix. A general scanner will give you a code with a generic description of the problem but to have it fixed right you need to unfortunately bring it in.

An airbag is not likely to falsely deploy. Whenever the light is on it means the airbag system is disabled. However it is never safe driving a vehicle with a malfunctioning airbag system.
no, the pre tensioner goes bad(I say your probably have over 100,000 miles on this car), and it is a problem with dodge caravans, plymouth voyagers. You need to check the chrysler web site for recalls on caravans. this may have been on there,
this is telling u that a fault has been detected in the airbag circuit by the airbag diagnostic monitor module (system is disabled when light is on), the most common cause is the rotating ribbon contact called the clock-spring contact has a break in it's circuit to the airbag on the steering wheel. To replace this you must disarm the airbag system and remove the steering wheel. Follow factory protocol for disarming airbag or serious injury can result from unwanted deployment of the airbag
It's the " clock spring " . Dodge has a lifetime recall / replacement on this part. Somehow it controls the air bag and is tied into the horn and cruise control .
ok, if the airbag light is on, there is a fault with the unit, your concerns are valid, if it has a faulty sensor the airbag MAY fire for no reason or not fire when you actually need it. if it has a recall on it, take it to the dealer so they can rectify the fault.
Recalls are a warranty repair from the manufacturer if they try to charge you scream the joint down
Sounds like a steering column that is not grounded or if that is ok then you have a recall for the steering clockspring as for the battery light check your charging system
