The relay on a 1993 Volvo 240 is behind the glove box. Just remove the panel below the glove box and you should see a white square plastic box - this is the fuel pump relay.
Thanks. We replaced it. Still have a fuel delivery issue when the car is hot. It starts fine when cold and after it has set for 15 to 30 minutes, but there is a fuel delivery issue when the car is hot. Still looking for diagnosis.
Here is some info that might help you: "There are two fuel pumps in the car. A transfer pump that is located in the gas tank and the main pump which is located under the car, left side under where the back seat is. You need to find out which one or both are bad. Here is a link to a site that describes how to remove the transfer pump: http://cleanflametrap.com/transferPump.h... It also shows how you can test both pumps. If you jumper the left side of fuses 4 & 6, both pumps should run. If you hear the main but not the transfer pump, then your transfer pump is bad, etc. Many times the transfer pump will go bad but the car will still run. This causes extra strain on the main pump and it eventually fails."
