When it was running it drove realy well no noise or smoke but sometime it would start to cough and sputter while driving but then returned back to normal i parked it last night and today it work run it just suters and coughs when i crank it over
What size Bronco and what engine? don-ohio (:^)
its a 87 bronco 2 with a 2.9 v6
First thing is I'd change the fuel filter. But you really need to run the code to check for a misfire. If that engine has a timing belt, it kinda sounds like how they warn you first nd then go totally out. I dont have a manual I don't think, but if it has the ignition module on the distributor, that's my guess that it's bad.
Thyat module screws to the distributor and ain't no bigger than a candy bar in size.Usually takes a very thinwall socket(or buy the little tool) to remove its 2 screws
cool so i just did a tune up cap rotor plugs and wires and i also picked up a can of thrust gave it one shot and she fired right up and ran like a champ with no problems i let her warm up for about 15 min turned her off try to start her back up and it was a no go shot some thrust and again she fired up and ran with no problems ???? any thoughts
Yeah.....I said earlier it's possibly a bad module on the distributor.About the size of a candy bar and gray in color.Has a plug in of a few wires going to it.This can act erratic and drive you nuts. It's worth it just to replace it and put that out of your mind. don-ohio (:^)

check your tail pipe for a "clog" engine not breathing correctly.

Regarding the heating issue, sounds like your thermostat is stuck open so the coolant isn't heating up. (May need replacement) Does your engine temp guage show it running colder than normal?
SOURCE: My 1993 Charade sometimes starts to 'cough' or stall
make sure your using the high grade gas, thie lower ones will cause damage to the engine, it's a small engine but a good one, so it is desingned for the higher grade to make the most of the fuel efficentcy.....shia....hope this helps

CHECK COOLANT LEVEL.CHECK THERMOSTAT.IF TOP RADIATOR HOSE DONT GET HOT IN 10 MINUTES AFTER FIRST STARTING CAR IN MORNING .AND JUST THE BOTTOM HOSE.THERMOSTAT STICKING CLOSE.IF THERMOSTAT FINE.PROBLEM COULD BE CLOGGED RADIATOR OR ENGINE BLOCK CLOGGED OR FAULTY WATER PUMP.

Sounds like intake air system, look for cracks in hoses (possible intake manifold gasket) all vacuum hoses and connections. Make sure TPS and all filters are clean. Sounds like a lean mixture/flooding issue. Common problems with FWD is the Air Intake Hose, lots of flexing. Cracks form on the bottom and debris comes off inside over time(thus fouling the TPS downstream). Remove inspect carefully, If it is hooped you can fab one up yourself with PVC and some clamps and Aluminium Dryer Ducting. With the proper alignment and bigger airways you will boost your performance. The TPS can be cleaned with Carb Cleaner, replace the air filter and then test with a Vacuum Pressure Gauge install in line, directly off a Intake Manifold Vacuum port.
Try that and get back to me? I'll be around...
