Hi guys.i have a 200 a4 1.8t. my oil light has been going on and off for over a week now.its not on all the time.today my mechanic put a new ol pressure switch and i drove the car for about 15 miles and it hasnt gone on yet. i know these engines are known for having an oil sludge problem. he did an oil pressure test and got the following results:
25 psi at idle with car warm
50 psi with car @ about 2000 rpm's ,but after seconds it dropped to around 40-45 psi.let go of the throttle and back down to 25 psi. what would you guys say?are those #'s good? any feedback would be appreciated.
thank you
Hi
I have an Audi A4 1.8 1999 model and had the oil pump replaced but am still getting an oil alarm when driving.Engine makes a terrible noise , any suggestions would be appreciated
THOSE NUMBERS ARE VERY GOOD, THE PROBLEM MOST LIKELY IS A DEFECTIVE OIL PRESSURE SENDING UNIT, HAVE REPLACED 100'S OVER THE YEARS FOR THIS SAME ISSUE, GREAT THAT U CHECKED THE PRESSURE THOUGH, IF THE LIGHT WAS INDICATING ACTUAL LOW PRESS U COULD HAVE WASTED THE BEARINGS IN THE ENGINE.
