I have a 2008 Chevy silverado with power locks and the driver side lock button is not working. It was previously only working for the passenger door but not the driver door, now is not working for either. The passenger power lock button still works for the passenger door but not the driverside door. I replaced the fuses and it still does not work. Any idea how to fix?

Its the switches themselves..sometimes you can disconnect the wires, then reconnect them and they might work..( I did this to mine..surprise - they worked.?.) If they do not work after reconnection.. its new switch time..

SOURCE: Power locks and mirrors out. Driver power window out.

Your chevy uses two fuses for the system. The power lock actuators are on the 15 amp fuse inside the truck. The fuse for the switches (locks and mirrors) are under the hood. For 99 to 04 (I think those are the years) there is a TSB on replacing the 3 amp fuse under the hood with a 5 amp fuse because this is a well known problem of having these blow.

Your drivers side window is a different issue. If the rest are working your problem is in the motor or getting power to the motor. The wires that go from the body to the door often crack and break with the opening and closing of the door.

SOURCE: door locks and power window

Just did this procedure I got from coloradofans.com forums:

"any type of power/voltage change seems to trigger this issue

The most common symptom is power locks fail and only the driver window quits, however that is on the extended cab.

Steps to fix and it works every time.

take door panel off driver's door
Disconnect the wiring attached to window and power lock control unit
disconnect battery cables
connect the negative to the positive cable(((NO BATTERY CONNECTED)))
This will act to short residual voltage in the system

5 minutes later
place the key in the ignition and turn to the run position
connect the wiring to the window/lock controller
connect the negative cable to the battery
then the positive
open drivers side door
turn key to the off position((do not remove yet)) you should get a series of dings through speakers telling you the key is still in the ignition
once it begins dinging pull the key out and you should hear the door lock solenoids trigger and the windows should work." - Coloradofans.com forums

Unlock a 2008 Chevy Silverado

This year model truck WILL allow the truck to be locked if the key fob is left inside, but not while fully engaged in the ignition. If you do not have Onstar service you will have to use a long piece of thin metal, possibly a straightened clothes hanger and work it into the upper part of the driver or passenger side door at the top rear corner. Be careful not to tear the door seal. If it's long enough to reach the power door lock button press it to open the door. If not then fashion a small hook on the end and hook the manual door lock release. There is just enough of a lip to hook on to. Hope this helps.

I have a 2008 chevy silverado crew cab and one of the door locks doesn't move

This is a very common problem on all chevy trucks for this year. The door lock solenoids are integrated into the door latch assembly, and are notoriously weak. They will work fine sometimes, others they just seem to barely move or not at all. You will need to replaced the door lock / latch assembly for the affected door.
