No it is the power steering pump. the pump is worn so at low rpm or low speeds it is real tough to steer. but when the rpm is picked up the steering gets easier.

Also check belt tension but at high rpm speeds the belt would slip and squel real loud. so i would point the problem to the power steering pump.

hope this fixs ya!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it hard to say without knowing the time involved or how much the part is. but a ballpark figure between 200 and 350. thats normal on some domestic pumps I have done in the past.

Why does my 2005 chevy colorado steer so hard I can't turn the wheel unless I'm moving forward also when applying the brake when coming to a stop my engine wants to cut out rpm dropping below 500 help

You may have more than one problem. Start with the power steering. If the power steering pump is causing a problem it may be seizing causing hard steering at slower speeds and putting an extra load on the engine causing the lower RPM's. Have this checked first.

Does a power steering belt affect the brakes?

no.
but if the engine is running below 800 rpm
there is less vacuum and brakes can be effected by the
Brake Vacuum booster.
and slow RPM can make steering pump weaker.

so first things first. what is ENGINE RPM
an is the belt slipping of RPM is ok>?

I am not sure if the radiator fan is working on my 92 v6 camry its not over heating but never see or hear the fan running is there a fuse or relay that might have gone out. I cant even see any wires that...

The radiator fan in the 92-95 models of V-6 Toyota and Lexus vehicles is a weird design. The fan is not electric but runs off the power steering pump. The power steering pump moves fluid through hoses to the radiator fan, thereby creating its rotation. A sensor monitors coolant temperature and signals a solenoid on the power steering pump when more or less cooling is needed. The power steering pump then speeds up or slows down to provide more or less fan speed.

This system seems to work pretty well. However, there is a connector that goes to the power steering pump that is critical to proper operation. In engine work this connector often gets overlooked when reassembly is done. This results in the fan running at constant speed and not increasing rotation when more cooling is needed. This becomes a problem primarily when the car is idling or moving at a slow speed.

If your car is not overheating in these situations, the fan is probably operating okay.
