2003 intrepid while driving the check engine light came on went to autozone and had it put on diagnostics,trouble codes-p0841,p1776 and p0700, all showed up , once i started the car to return home . The check engine light wasn't on any more.i drove home with no light on the next day it came back on the. Went off I had it retested and no codes were found , I'm very lost and confused on this someone please help the car has 144.234 miles on it.what does the Code - p0841 mean also

You need to have the solenoid inside your transmission replaced. That is the P1776 code, and it is what is causing the P0700 code.

Also, make sure to do a transmission fluid flush and change, along with changing the transmission filter.

PO456 is most times a gas cap or gasket,
to get an incorrect gear ratio the transmission has probably started to slip.

Change the fluid and filter first off in the transmission and use only atf+4 fluid and possibly the govenor pressure sensor,and change gas cap.

p0731 transmission shift problems
p0841 solinoid problems in the transmission
p0846 fluid level
p0700 solinoid stuck or sticking hard shifting
there is a solinoid in the transmission that shifts the trans and downshifts when stopping this is a problem you generally don't want to do your self

P0700 code is a generic code for Transmission Control System Malfunction


P1776 code means your solenoid switch valve is stuck in low reverse. (DTC 47) A stuck solenoid switch valve is a common occurrence in the valve body of the Dodge 41te transmission.

The first step would be to check the wiring to the solenoid from the TCM, then maybe try a new solenoid pack if the wiring is determined to be fine.

It may be a shift solenoid or a speed sensor look up the codes online google your cars year, make ,and model and be sure the fluid is not too low, check the fluid level warm while the motor is running.

I recommend changing your transmission fluid to see if that helps solve the issue....

Otherwise, you may have to change the solenoid pack as the screen filter in it will clog, and stick the solenoids.

P0700 is an alert code the p1776 is the actual trouble code.
Code p1776 is solenoid switch valve latched in low/reverse position. Valve is located in valve body not solenoid body reploace it
