Started her up one morning to warm her up and after like 20 seconds she started acting funny and started to shake till she died on me.Right away i tried starting her up with no luck. She got a quarter tank, and i hear the fuel pump going. This happend 2 days after i bought a new regular not high performance air filter and oil change.Would new air filter like clogg or damage say fuel filter or fuel injectors??...P.S tried starting her up after 24 hours and no luck all she does is crank fine sounds like she wants to but just wont and i have good power baterry dosent drain out
Make sure battery has a full charge. If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it while you visually check for spark at the spark plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure and fuel injector pulse.
If you have tbi fuel injection, fuel pressure is 9--13 psi.
If you have cmfi fuel injection, my info says 55--61 psi.

fuel filter sounds like it is a prime suspect. if cat convertor it will be extremely hot possibly glowing as this goes on.

i had a similar problem and called the dealer during lunch hour. i talked to a mechanic, the distributor in these vehicles is plastic, and is prone to cracking.not just the cap but the body also, I have been taking the cap off and wiping the moisture out of the cap. or replacing the cap but the problem is I need a new distributor. just a cheep way to get rolling is cleaning the inside of the cap, especially when it is very damp or the outside temp changes alot during the day. good luck.
