I opened my sunroof and it got stuck in the position where it is in the vented position(backside of sunroof tilted up 2"). I tried with the dual action switch numerous times to get it to close as the motor still applying force. seems like the bracket mechanism that forces the sunroof backside upward is jammed. any suggestions how to get this thing closed. i was thinking of disconnecting from motor and using mechanical force to close. Any suggestions. Thank you
It probly cam off track if u can get something in there to push it along a little it will probly go down
thank you very much, i have never owned a car with a moonroof before, So i assuming it slide off the track and i will have to pry the mechanism towards the rear of the vehicle ill take the glass out first and monkey around. first time opening it here today in a prespring day in alberta canada going to accountant to do taxes, guess olde betty knew i getting a refund, tempting to run it into someone now with extra greenbacks, give it a whirl myself. Thank you very much.
Looks like the bracket that holds up the sunroof in the tilted position after 14 years is alittle worn out, was able after removing the glass to take a look at it and as it disengages from the actuacting slider it becomes binded in the track. No grease is going to help it out. got the bracket to sit back down as there is two notches you have to get the guide pins in to have it lay flat so it can slide backwards again. Note to all that remove glass apon installing tighten the nutts enough so you can position the glass rubber seal just above the body of the car then tighten fully, this will prevent pooling of water and eliminate leaking. No sunroof any longer. A/c still good lol.
