How do I bypass the range sensor in my Mercedes e320? It will not go out of first gear, if there is anyone out there that could help that would be great. Thank you
i have a merc c250 td manual.. i had a accident about a month back... i changed all the mountings... wen i start the car it has a bad vibration throughout the whole car and if i rev it, it gets worst... can it be the main engine pulley or the flywheel?
I had the same problem with 1999 E300 TD 6-cylinder in-line engine.
The problem was the o-ring on the pre-filter. Make sure all o-rings are tight and try putting small amount of silicone grease when installing them.
Suggest changing fluid and filter as old fluid can cause issues. Also Pistons on the side of the transmission can be changed without removing them. When they break you can lose gears. If that doesnt work time for a rebuild.
It can be faulty glow plugs (replace), clogged fuel injectors (fuel injector cleaner), warn distributor cap/wiring (check/replace), fuel pump circuit, also might be wrong ignition timing.

Good Luck
have you had the transmission flushed? it seems to be caught in a limbo. where the calibration of the speedo and the transmission are not compatable. Now as wierd as that seems it happens usally like when going up a hill if you have a manual trans. and cruise locked in. it cant hold that speed and moves to a different speed if you dont down shift. Or perhaps your cruise control cable is slipping. is it vacume over mechanical? pop the hood and make sure all your hoses to cruise control are tight and no leaks.
