I have a Nissan 1996 maxima with 132000 miles. I have it from day one. Few days back the car stopped while i was driving. I waited for 10 minutes and car started back up normally and drove for 10 miles and then it again died. No engine check light came on. it stopped for few more times before I i was able to get home total distance driven with stop and go was 26 miles . In the middle of stop and go CEL l light came on. The error codes shown on scanner are P0325. p0100, and P0110. So far I have changed Mass air flow sensor, fuel pump, fuel strainer and both front oxygen sensors. The car starts all right but idiling is up and down when you press the accelerator it bogs down and dies any advice what is wrong?

Well, sometimes you get lucky replacing parts, but usually its something other than the component in question.
The trouble codes are a guide as to what to test, not what to replace.
Code 325 is for the knock sensor which could be a phantom code.
Code 100 is for a bad signal from the MAF sensor which may or may not be caused by a bad sensor. It could be a vac leak too.
Code 110 is for a bad signal from the intake air temp sensor. The signal tells the computer what the temp of incoming air is to help the computer decide how rich the fuel mixture should be.
You need to get the testing procedures for each code and follow them. I would skip code 325 and start with code 110.
The fuel pump was probably a waste of money unless you checked fuel pressure before you replaced it and it was low. Same thing with the O2 sensors. Very rare if both sensors fail at the same time.

SOURCE: 2003 Nissan Altima 2.5S, Check Engine Light Problem.

this problem could be caused by the mass air flow censor, i had the same problem with my car. it is really pricey at the dealer so you might want to check elsewhere for this part. I found one at a scrap yard for 85% less that the dealer and i also got life time warranty, the dealer does not offer any warranty on this part.

Can a MAF sensor be simply cleaned

yes you can clean a dirty sensor, but not a busted one. cleaning is a good step, if it works and the sensor responds correctly the pcm will turn the light out by itself if the problem no longer exists.(could take a couple of road tests) however connecting a scanner or code reader and hit clear codes then done. also disconnecting the battery for a min or so should do the job. if the problem still exists the light will reset pretty quickly. hope this helps.

I failed the emisson's test. I have a 97 Nissan

P0136 indicates a bad O2 sensor. This reports poor emission performance back to the car's PCM (computer)
P0325 indicates a bad "Knock" sensor which would adversely effect drivability as far as performance is concerned. Only way to fix these 2 problems is replacement of the 2 components.

I need to troubleshoot dtc p0325 & p1320 on a 1997 Nissan Maxima GXE?

Hi,

The two codes seem to be related. The P0325 description is knock sensor circuit malfunction and the P1320 is ignition signal - circuit malfunction.

I'll summarize and then give links on more detailed articles I found. Basically the P0325 refers to the knock sensor and associated wiring. The P1320 refers to the ignition coil and wiring. Check the sensor, coil, and associated wiring.

I found some great articles:
P0325 - http://www.obd-codes.com/p0325
P1320 - http://autorepair.about.com/library/a/1i/bl039i.htm

Good luck!
