2003 Altima 2.5S heading and temp display not working right

Located in the central junction box . Fuse F1.13 10amp. CJB - under right side of dash .

F1.8 10 Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (EATC) module (19980), Exterior

rear view mirror, left, Exterior rear view mirror, right

F1.5 7.5 Powertrain Control Module (PCM) (12A650), Deactivator switch, Third row

folding seat relay, left, Third row folding seat relay, right, Power lift gate

Clock (15000), Function selector switch assembly, front, Electronic Automatic

Temperature Control (EATC) module (19980). Don't think you have a fuse problem ! More then likely the HVAC control module is bad , they do go bad

Does the compass work when the temperature goes out? If the compass still works then chances are that the ambient temp sensor is defective. Also, could be wiring to the sensor. If the compass goes out with the temperature then chances are the mirror itself is defective. Cheapest most common problem is the ambient temp sensor. It's behind the grill by the condenser at the front of the vehicle.

u might have to do that with the mirror but the air bag thing i would have a mechanic take a look at it but i think the air bag computer system is failing

Temperature Display
The inside rearview mirror supplies a 5 volt signal circuit and low reference circuit to the ambient air temperature sensor. The inside rearview mirror monitors and records the voltage on the signal circuit of the ambient air temperature sensor. The inside rearview mirror uses this recorded voltage to display the temperature on the temperature display portion of the compass/temperature display. The temperature display will show "ICE" when the ignition is first turned on and the current temperature is 3°C (37°F) or below. The display will toggle between "ICE" and the actual outside temperature for approximately 4 minutes.
The mirror will display "OC" if the mirror senses a temperature of less than -40°C (-40°F).
the mirror will display a "SC" if the mirror senses a temperature of greater than 112°C (143°F).



Replace the inside rearview mirror with compass. Refer to Inside Rearview Mirror Replacement .

Removal
NOTE: Do not remove the mirror assembly when repairing the individual mirror part. Individual mirror parts can be installed without removing the mirror assembly.

1. Remove the front door trim panel; refer to Section 501-05.

1. Remove the outside rear view mirror access water shield.

1. Remove the speaker.
   1. Remove the screws.
   1. Disconnect and remove the speaker.

1. Disconnect the outside rear view mirror electrical connector.

1. Remove the outside rear view mirror.
   1. Remove the nuts.
   1. Remove the outside rear view mirror.
      • Feed the outside rear view mirror wiring through the opening in the front door.

The temperature display on the rear view mirror my 2002 Trailblazer LT is either way incorrect - like obviously too high or too low - but mostly just shows "OC" all the time. Is this an expensive fix? Is this an easy fix that I could do myself? What do I need to replace and how

you could always try unplugging the battery for about ten minutes to see if that resets it. make sure you have the code for the stereo first if it requires one.

Yes. Look in the Fuse Panel inside the Truck. Use a Good Maglight or LED Flashlight and Hold it Behind the Fuses to see the Blown Ones. It is usually in an AUX Outlet. Also check thr Fuse Relay Box under the Hood for a Blown Fuse using the Same Method. See if there is a Relay for this also. If so, Replace it. Let me know if you need any more Help! be very careful removing the mirror from the mirror head (there's a 90% chance it will break). Instead remove the mirror head from the vehicle. remove the door panel. you will see 3 nuts that hold the mirror head on the van. (may have to poke around to find them, behind some foam maybe). the electrical conection you are looking for is in the door follow the wires you'll find it. NOTE: most mirror heads are not ment to be taken apart and fixed but instead the whole mirror head replaced.

Right behind the grill around the rad. support on the passenger side (usually) there is a sensor called an ambient temperature sensor. That gives your outside temp. on your rearview mirror.
