Check engine light is on and i got the code c1201 brought it to auto zone and they did not know what c1201 is can anybody help me
Code C-1201 engine control module C CODES IS PROBLEM IN THE ABS BRAKE SYSTEM AND THE ECM.
You can go to the internet and google code c1201 followed by the year, make, model, and engine of your vehicle.
you could also call a new car dealer and ask someone in the service department exactly what it is. be sure to write down EXACTLY what service tech says. then, you can google it and get the problem described in english.

I looked up the codes you posted.
P0420 is showing a bad oxygen sensor on bank #1, the one down by the catalytic converter.
P0773 is an electrical problem with the shift solenoid E.
A bad oxygen sensor would cause lower fuel milage.

pull the E.F.I. fuse located under the hood on the drivers side, if there is more than 1 efi fuse pull them both along with the E.T.C.S. fuse (if there is one) for 1 minute or so. That should do it

normally you need to change the converter if you have smog test you have no choise if not disconnect the battery for a minute and try it out hopefully it will not come back hope its a fixya thanks for the post pierre

Did you buy the universal replacement sensor where you use the plug off of the old sensor and the splice kit? If so, that is most likely the issue. Had the same problem on a 2003 Avalon. Bought the ones with the plug and codes cleared. ps. Check Amazon.com, lots less expensive.
