Put a torsion key lift on my 98 silverado. Thts new offset torsion keys cranked up for around 2 inches of lift. Truck rides rough as to be expected but it's so bad when yu hit a bump it just bounces horribly bad. Wondering if there is anything I can do to the front end to help the ride of the truck?

have you checked the ball joints it may be the struts but i would check the ball joints i can walk you through all of this if you need me to even the repairs and do not buy any parts untill you get back to me cause they will try and sell you the whole strut assembly and you do not need that

BY raising the body 2'' you have in fact extended the travel required in the shockys by 2''. IN short the piston in the shockys are probably now hitting the upper end of the case inside. The bump stops for the upper arm will now have extra clearence if they are on top or probably no clearence if they are situated under the arms. In raising the body I hope you took into account the new drive line angles for the drive shafts as they will now be operating at a different angle close to max permitted, and will result in premature shaft failure.

I put a torsion key lift on my 98 silverado(new offset torsion keys cranked all the way up for around 2 inches of lift) wondering if there's anything I can do besides lowering it to ease out the ride. I've...

if you alter the standard ride height where standard travel shocks are installed , you have to alter the shocks to accommodate the difference in travel for the shocks
2" higher = 2 "longer shocks or 2"' lower =2 " shorter shocks next use a shorter bump stop for the arms so that the stop is not hit on the slightest bump
remember that the engineers design the car for maximum stability and ride comfort and when you decide that you are not happy and change it then stability , road handling and comfort all go out the window

The torsion bar suspension on my 99 silverado is bottomed out. I know about adjusting the torsion keys but the driver side was tightened all the way in since new. Do I need to replace bars, keys, or what...

SOUNDS LIKE THE TORSION bars might be getting weak. you can replace the keys with a set used as a leveling kit these will be indexed differently to allow more suspension height.A trick I use is to install a set of ford keys they are identical to the aftermarket set of lifting keys and half the price!!! the part number is XL3Z-5B328-CA this will probably be your best option.

Do i have adjustable hubs on my 1997 dodge ram 1500 magnum 2 wheel drive

your hubs are NOT adjustable

well.. you could tighten your torsion bars and that will lift the front of your truck up, but i wouldnt recomend it because

1. it is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. the torsion bar could snap while adjusting it and fling through the cab.

2. Your vehicle will ride extremely rough.

Want to change torsion bar keys

The torsion keys are supposed to give 2-3" additional drop vs.the "free" method. I know adjusting the torsion bars kills the ride but how bad is it and how far can you go???

Believe, 15/16 socket would be the correct size. Also, be aware that they are probably pretty rusted and VERY hard to turn at first. Air tools do no good, so you'll need a 1/2" drive breaker bar and a long pole to put on the end. This is the fastest way to get the torque you need to break those suckers loose.

I suggest measure and writing down the height about 3-5 spots on each side, whether it be the frame, body, or whatever. Crank each side a few FULL thread turns, then measure again. Once you get about the height you want, measure both side to make sure they're equal. After that, it's best to get a full alignment as some of the suspension will now be at different angles (of course).

Low clearance in from on vehicle......

to my way of thinking, turning the torsion bars will only lift the body....if I wanted more clearance on the axle and the differential, I would put taller and bigger tires on the front end to give more clearance on where you want it.....
