I recently got a mass air sensor error code for my 2003 Jetta GLI. It is the only error code I get. I replaced the mass air sensor with a genuine VW part. I still get the code. Please advise! Thanks!

REMOVE SNORKEL AIR TUBES BETWEEN GRILL AND AIR CLEANER. REMOVE ENTIRE AIR CLEANER--(PULL UP FROM BOTTOM OF UNIT, IT IS JUST HELD ON WITH FOUR CLIPS) AT REAR OF ENGINE YOU WILL SEE A ROUND AIR INTAKE THE SENSOR IS IN THE TOP TUBE. USE FLAT BLADE SCREW DRIVER TO PUSH IN THE CLIP AT THE REAR AND REMOVE THE TUBE UNPLUG THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION. THE SENSOR IS SCREWED IN WITH 2 TAMPER PROOF SCREWS REQUIRING A SPECIAL BIT (5 STAR WITH A HOLE IN THE CENTER) I GOT ONE FROM A TOOL TRUCK (SNAP ON ETC)
SOURCE: Where is the mass air flow sensor located on a jaguar x-type
hi from the uk the location of mass air flow sensor on x type jag is as follows==it is on the r/h/side of the air filter cover with jaguar embossed on top? this sensor is just prior to the intake hose that connects to the motorised throttle body from filter connections underneath it to unplug and meter is held by two screws ?if memory serves ? may i suggest you remove the large hose and use a little wd40 or similar to clean /lubricate the throttle butterfly in throttle body throat at this point so as to prevent future sticking upsetting of idling ? hope this helps ?

Very easy for the Mass Air Flow Sensor....it is in the duct between the throttle body and the air filter box. Just unclamp the tube and remove the old and replace with the new.
On your pack....I need the engine size.

If the mass flow sensor was bad, the check engine light should of came on giving off an engine code. To remove the mass flow, disconnect battery neg cable, then pull of the wire harness and pull out mass. You will probably have to remove the air intake hose.

The sensor is mounted on the throttle body between the air cleaner assembly and the air cleaner outlet tube.
