Reverse is gone on 1995 chevy blazer s10-goes forward just fine

1995 chevrolet blazer LS 4.3L Model:S10506-my reverse went out, what do I do? All the forward gears work fine, I just took a 10 hour trip with it. Before the reverse went out it always acted a little funny(in reverse). It would kinda shudder when gas was applied during reverse and then one day reverse was gone. Please help!

SOURCE: my reverse is gone what do I do?

the "sun shell" or reaction shell broke inside the transmission< if you notice 2nd gear is also gone or working funny. Transtar makes a hardened shell that costs about 40$ but you need to remove the transmission to fix it, and overhaul is best. The burnt fluid smell is because the torque converter has been slipping when you are on the highway, sonex makes a repalcement valve that should be installed by a train proffessional. Solution is rebuilt trans with new converter and parts i have listed in the paragraph

I have a 1997 Chevy s10 blazer with a 4.3 v6 will a 1998 Chevy s10 blazer 4.3 v6 interchange

they should swap just fine. 1996 and on are interchangeable. 1995 could go either way. 1994 and older are interchangeable.

I have a 1991 chevy blazer S10 4x4 was driving on the highway and very bad shaking happend then slowed down for awile.. shaking went away but comes and goes! notice trans fluied coming from both ends of...

You stop using the vehicle NOW

COMMON SENSE

It will have to go to a repair shop

I would suggest a local trans shop, first

It could be a leaking seal, but one trip
down the street, and you could destroy
the drivetrain in a hurry, if your fluids are gone

I have a 1994 Chevy S10 Blazer bad reverse

The odds of two different transmissions having the same problem in reverse is astronomical. I think your problem is in the differential. Also check for the proper fluids and additives in the differential.

1995 Chevy S10 Blazer

IT IS NOT GOING INTO NEUTRAL. IT HAS LOST THE DIRECT DRIVE CLUTCH PACK INTERNALLY. SOUNDS LIKE IT IS HIGH MILEAGE. IF SO AND YOU CHANGE THE FLUID IT CLEANS UP ALL THE VARNISH IN THE TRANNY AND THE END RESULT IS TRANNY MALFUNCTIONS DEPENDING ON WHAT KIND OF CARE IT HAS HAD IN THE PAST.

1993 chevy blazer S10

That is a very common problem with General Motors 700R4 transmission. There is a shell that encases the majority of the forward gears and the reverse drum is on top of it and that completely encases the forward drum. at the bottom of that shell there is a collar that is about one quarter of an inch long that rides on a gear set called planetarys. those have a problem with breaking and cause no reverse and driving in neutral. that is the link between the front and rear shaft of the transmission and the weak link. for that to be repaired it has to be removed from the truck and taken apart. It is highly recommended that it be completly rebuilt not just patched due to all of the metal that is sent through the transmission.
