I have a 93 oldsmobile cutlass ciera it runs great no knocks or taps only 160k miles but stalls out about 10 seconds after starting but starts up great then ill put it in reverse and it will stall but if i keep my foot on the gas it runs fine and once im moving sometimes it wont stall when i stop but it does stall i want this problem resolved i really like it
Check fuel filter then air filter, tune-up, dirty throttle body, any codes?
Clean out the throttle body, the engine isnt getting enough air at idle, thats why it stalls when your footis off the gas pedal or at stops. Has nothing to do with oil level.
Check your air filter too for condition or any obstructions in the air intake.
Check the oil. Quite a few cars do that when they are low.

Wow! thats verry low miles for an 88. Check the fuel pressure at the injector. If the pressure is low the filter could be clogged or the pump is not putting out enough pressure. Replace both if the pressure is not up to par. also check the fuel relays.

tcc stuck try unpluging it and see if same but dont drive with unpluged will burn up transmission also could be fuel pump . or crank shaft postion sensor . try the tcc first then vheck fuel presure , and then check for codes with scanner

Checkk the EGR system for the EGR valve should open when the engine gets to operating temperature. If not the engine will stall out
