My signal lights only work when my check engine light turns on. My check engine light is off most of the time and when it is off i get a service electrical system message on my dash.
Check first for any codes.

i HAD SAME PROBLEM WENT TO CADILLAC THEY INSTALLED 2 CAM SHAFT SENSORS AT 48000 MILES. NOW I GET 29 AND 30 MPG ON TRIPS

It sounds like you may have blown a fuse the tail lights and dash lights are usually on the same fuse. Do you have the owners manual? That will show you where the fuse boxes are located and which fuse does what. If you find a blown fuse and it blows another one right away, there's a problem in the wiring. You'll have to get it checked bt a mechanic.

i have got this code before and it just be lose gas cap.....but have also had to replace the cap on a few of them .....the vent hole in it gets cloged....hope it helps
