I have a 2004 GMC sierra Denali pickup, the other day I went out and their was not even enough voltage to work the door remote, so we went to pep boys and they said I needed a new battery, and they had trouble passing the alternator test, but it passed. two days later the truck cranked but very slow and would not start, so I charged the battery and took it to advance auto to check the system and they told me there was a ripple in the alternator so I replaced the alternator, the whole time the voltage in the truck is reading 14V, when I put a meter on the battery with the truck running it says 14V. I go out this morning and the truck is dead, not even enough to work the remote door locks. I know the battery was not at full charge but several times yesterday the truck kicked over like a champ.

Several mechanics have looked at it, but has any automotive electricians......
what you have (sounds like) is a current drain.....what you need to do is disconnect the negative terminal from the battery and place a mutimeter in parallel,...(one lead on negative post on battery, and one lead on negative lead)...and set to current reading...it should be 0.05 amps or less...it will jump high first but will settle down.....if it is higher than this amount after a minute, something is causing a drain...
Now I have found that it could be something as a glovebox light not turning off when you close the glovebox, or interior somewhere....or it could actually be the alarm after all......
if you do find a drain, start pulling fuses to determine what might be causing it, if you pull a fuse out and the current goes from 1.2A, down to 0.05A, then you know which circuit could be at fault......
I hope this helps

check for loose battery connection. or maybe a cable going bad. they can corrode inside and the copper wire will turn green

i have a 2003 chevy silverado the riverse has not worked for 10.000 miles any sugesstionswhat this might be and or how much.

No that's good alternator voltage, you could have a defective battery or if it don't start after sitting for a whole could have an elec. draw, if this is the case disconnect the neg. terminal and hook a test light at cable end and the pointer at battery if test light lights up you have a draw, remove dome light fuse and light bulb under hook, start pulling one fuse( under the hood and on the side on dash ) at a time and keep an eye on the test light when light goes out that's the problem, check that circit.
