9 times out of ten it is the front control module, but it is almost impossible to confirm an intermittent code.

Hi Robert i think you have me in the right direction ,sine lefting the power distribution panel to to get at plug in connectors on front control panel the fault is now perminantley on do you know the colours of the can bus wires Mike

  • Robert Totic Mar 06, 2013

I have yet to see that the harness is a problem; you need a starscan to properly diagnose this problem. here is your schematic.

it doesn't want to post; the can bus wires are white/light blue and white/light green; they are a twisted pair and it looks like it's the same colors on every module.

Is in limp mode and wont go above 35 mph

Get an OBDII reader and connect to see what error codes you are getting. Limp mode can be caused by many different things including problems with the transmission.

My chrysler 300 wont shift out of 2nd gear

ello
The engine and transmission in this cars drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM (Power Train Control Module). Whenever a problem like this occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant teperature sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL THE DIAGNOSIS & TESTING IS COMPLETED.

Chrysler 300 downshifted going down highway to 2nd gear.car now only has 2nd and reverse. When you put into drive selector goes directly to 2nd.trans makes no noise but will not shift.at the same time this...

it sounds like the transmission has gone into what they call limp in mode which indicates a problem with the transmission.you will have to have a scan tool put on it to pull the code out of the tcm(transmission control module) which will turn on the engine light.at the same time it may show a code for the temp control.

Changing inner tie rods on 2005 Chrysler 300c

yes. If the rack is not held ,when you try to turn the rod you could bend the rack. With the pin out it doesn't take much to hold the rack, loosen the end with the rack "turned " so the rack is retracted into the housing, not sticking way out .
