Normal fuel pressure should be 55-65 psi at idle.

give these guys a call they sells only GM-parts Schram auto & truck parts and they should be able to tell you 1-800-292-1032 and they website is www.schramauto.com you can also stop by your local GM-dealership in the parts department and they be able to print you off pictures and diagrams showing you for the most part its under the hood in the fuses box wish you the best of luck Michigan Man.

SOURCE: in-the-tank fuel pump r&r

Here are instructions for replacment with a diagram of the fuel pump components my only suggestion would be instead of draining the tank and dropping the fuel tank if you unbolt the box and using a jack and and some wood lift the fuel tank side of the box this will give you access to the tank and fuel pump/ sending unit. It will save you time and the hastle of replacing the tank straps which are prone to snapping at the threads when trying to remove the nuts.If these brake you will have to replace them.

have it tested using a manual gage if still low then main baring ore most likely bad that would mean a over hall if is really low and bearings bad should be making rattle noise when started up first few seconds

Testimonial: "thanks alot.truck is not making a rattling noise.we did check it with a manual gauge.it read about 10 at idol. press. gets better as you incr speed"

1993 GMC Sierra SLE will not re-start after stopping and turning off the engine. It will start if you let it cool down for about 10-15 minutes.

Check manifold pressure sensor if present.
Check MAF sensor.
Check water temperature sensor.
Check O2 sensor.

GMC does not use any such switch, that is Ford.

I have a 1995 gmc sierra sle 1500 it will crank but not start

the first things to check is going to be your fuel supply (try some starter fluid). if you know your getting fuel then you need to check for spark ( you can pull your coil wire and ark the spark to a ground) depending on the results there's many more things to trouble shoot

1998 gmc 2500 sle 5.7 wont stay running

Theres only one fuel pump relay, unless you have dual tanks. Be sure you have 55-60 psi fuel pressure. I "think" the oil pressure switch supplies power to the fuel pump after the engine is running.

2002 1500 gmc 5.3 vortec Z71 sle for no apparent reason started cutting out when accelerating to get on fwy. finally got up to speed of 65 mph. after backing off of accelerator. not so bad when...

sounds like you are suffering from low fuel pressure, with a proper gauge you can check to be certian that you have addaquit pressure. at idle you should have 14-18 psi.
