If I were to go by what people say on this site, I
would be led to believe everyone works on their
own vehicles & no one really does
If a repair shop is changing parts, they failed to find
the real issues & you seek out another shop to loose
your money at
The codes are for a circuit malfunction
That doesn't mean the sensor was bad
I would be looking at all data parameters, on a road
test, with you along for the experience
I would record the data & also look at fuel trim & resolve
the MAF Codes before we move on to possible other issues
& you many very well have more than one problem
Todays vehicles require the use of factory reference material
You can't fix what you don't understand,no matter who you are,
or how good you are.
Hey Peter! Not sure if u got my response yesterday.....but I'll try ur suggestions and I hear you with all the opinions that came with it.....lol!!
Not opinions to offend you I have 50 years experience You have to diagnose the codes you have ,using professional tools & have reference materials
I have to add that there is no reason to change 2 MAF Sensors as that tells me no testing was done & when you have a repair shop do that & come home & come here & dsay you still have a check light on then the vehicle wasn't properly diagnosed & you paid for that
Now you want someone without the vehicle to guess at a solution I owned a shop once & have delt with customers on a fishing trip all too often
The reason for the change!......the code was never erased and I blame nobody for that. After all we are humans and we do make mistakes.....right? As for your suggestions, I will follow through and appreciate ur input Pete.....thanx, Joe
Welcome--In most cases when the proper repair is made the check light will go out If you were to turn off the check light you clear all data & you don't want to do that as you have to wait for monitors to run to get codes back & get back to what you were working on When a shop gives you a vehicle back it has to be road tested at least 25 miles & codes cleared I'm not seeing that on this site thus my opinions or speculation
