I have a mitsubishi colt 1997 1.3, my first problem is when i deaccelerate my engine light comes on sometimes and when i accelerate it goes off again, this has been happening the past 2 months . 2nd problem its using too much fuel, and my 3rd problem now that has come into the car the past 2 days, after i drive and stop it sounds and feels like the car is going to cut out

Have the fuel pressure checked- this would determine if your fuel pump is working properly. Its really easy if you have a gauge. you might be able to rent one at a part store. or it could need a new fuel filter

have the car checked when the check engine light is on,also a good scanner will be able to give you the history codes, get back to me with the codes and we'll go from there. you need someone with a professional scan tool

There are many emission sensors in the car that will make the engine light come ON. Not to mention the big list of trouble codes for the engine light. The engine light code will give you a big clue of what's causing the accelerator pedal problem.
Best way to find out what's going on engine light is to have an auto-parts store hook up a engine code reader and tell you what the code means and the problem. Most auto-part store will do this for free.

Most likely it is the ABS module is going bad and needs to be replaced or rebuilt at www.bba-reman.com, hope this helps.

The car has just clocked 185,000 miles
