In my case, simply removing and reseating the IPC/DIC fuse restored the gauges to full functionality.

SOURCE: fuel gauge fluctuates on 1995 chevrolet tahoe

if you replaced the tank and all i assume you didnt change the fuel pump. if you dint then all thats wrong is that the float on the fuel pump is gas logged and will move more than if you had put in a new pump thus the fluctuation in the guage.

SOURCE: my 2003 chevy tahoe dashboard gauges stopped

The dash cluster is know for two different problems.

If individual gauges bounced erratically and then quit, the little stepper motors that run them are bad. Upgrades are available from eBay, but you need PC soldering experience to change them out. An internet search will show allot of people who will rebuild the cluster for you.

If the entire cluster died all at once, the most common issue is bad solder joints near where the plug attaches to the board. This is an easier fix than the stepper motors, but still you need to be handy with a soldering iron!

What is the fix for my 2003 Chevy Tahoe with the gauges not working till I pull the pic/dic fuse and then put it back in.

IS this a one time issue? IF so when the battery dies and is jump started, the voltages can be spiked or sag and this causes issues with the electronics in the boards. When you pull the fuse and put it back you are resetting it and not letting drop or sag or spikes happen. If the issue keeps happening then you need to look at for issues with bad connections on the boards or the BCM

My speedometer and rpm is not working

Hello,

This is a common problem on the 03-06 Tahoe instrument cluster, it's caused by failing gauge motors inside the cluster itself. Usually you will see one gauge start to "stick" or read weird for a while, eventually it will spin over and stop all together. Later more gauges will start to do the same, one by one.

You can get a new cluster at the dealer for $400 - $600 or you can have your original cluster rebuilt for less than half of that. Check this page for more on the problem - Tahoe instrument cluster repair
