V8 5.9 liter Engine Timing

on the midle of the engine run whit timing belt

Im looking for. 2008 dodge avenger 2.7 l timing. Chain Tentioner cap

the 2.0 liter is an interference engine and valve damage can occur if the belt brakes.

the 2.4 liter is not an interference engine

the 2.5 liter is an interference engine and valve damage can occur if the timing belt breaks.

Timing should be on a sticker under the hood or in the engine compartment.

the camshaft and crankshaft has a small dot on them they go dot to dot
with the crankshaft dot being at 12:00 o clock and camshaft dot at 6:00 o clock

There were three different engines for that vehicle in 1996, here are diagrams of the 3.9 liter V-6 engine, and the 5.2 and the 5.9 liter V-8 engines both have the same firing order.

Legally, you can not put an older motor into a newer vehicle due to emissions laws. You can always put a newer engine (usually manufactured to meet newer emissions specs) into an older vehicle, but not vice-versa. There's issues with the computer and vin # when you change from one factory engine to a different type as well.

you could have vacumm problems making it seem like the timing is off, but the other guys are right on the timing!!!! it could be throw-body problems, like crack manifold problems. This year has thhis type of problem sometime. Try spraying WD-40 around the vacuum hoses, & manifold to see if the motor changes rpm????
