SOURCE: While driving down the highway

We need to check on the following.
1. check if there is fuel in the tank and there is no impurities or water.
2. Check the working of the fuel pump , check if fuel injection is working.
3. Check the ignition system, check for good spark, if not check HT coils or the ignition system trigger.
Good luck

Jeep troubleshooting free

You need to get some kind of scan tool that can read the data ouput of the efi system while driving on the hills that give you problems. The efi system probably has a spark knock sensor.Reading the data off of the sensor while driving will tell if the sensor is telling the engine ecm to adjust itself for low quality fuel. The engine ecm is programmed to dial back power if it detects spark knock.Running poor quality fuel will cost you many dollars more in the long run.A lean running condition (low fuel pressure, partialy plugged injectors, plugged fuel filter) will cause spark knock under load.Carbon deposits on the pistons(internal engine problems) will cause spark knock. The knock is caused by fuel igniting before the spark plug ignites it-The piston is trying to go back wards.Sometimes there will be a factory reflash for the ecm if many of the engines had the same problem.Try reading on some Jeep forums online. This is a problem for a good auto tech-not your average flat rate parts swaper. If the jeep has had many miles since some maintenance(filters & spark plugs) you might start there before laying out $ for diag.

Cranks but wont start

Likely a fuel delivery problem.

Check the filter, as it may be clogged and due for replacement. To test for fuel delivery, open your airbox and spray some starter fluid (purified ether, usually) down into the throttle body while someone else cranks the engine. If it fires up and runs for a few seconds but won't run without spraying the starter fluid, then you know you've got spark and compression. If that's the case, there could be any number of potential issues: throttle position sensor (not very common, but it does happen), fuel injectors clogged (common if you use low-grade fuel), fuel filter/strainer clogged (filters should be replaced every 30k miles or so, on average), fuel pump failure (you should hear a buzzing from the fuel pump when you crank the engine).

If the starter fluid doesn't help, then the problem is no spark. Check each plug/cable for fouling.

While driving down the highway the car just stopped running. I checked all belts and engine is turning over with starter. Thinking what went wrong is the fuel pump went out.

We need to check on the following.

2. Check the working of the fuel pump , check if fuel injection is working.
3. Check the ignition system, check for good spark, if not check HT coils or the ignition system trigger.

My Madza died while driving down th highway, felt

If you dont have much money, guessing what parts to change gets expensive. First, you need to verify if it has fuel pressure and spark, that will lead you in the direction to start looking for the problem. Pull 1 spark plug wire off and see if it will jump a 1/2" gap, If so, thats good. If no spark, make sure the cam is turning, you may have a broken timing belt.
