The switch is on the gearbox, But not sure of the exact location for your model. But guess there are not many other wired items on the gearbox.

It's in your owner manual (a list of the fuses and their purposes)
SOURCE: Ford focus station wagon looking for where tail light fuse is
There are 4 fuses you would need to check in the interior fuse panel.
The first one is fuse no.32(10amp) then check no. 33 (15amp) then no. 59 (7.5 amp) and no. 61 (7.5 amp)
SOURCE: Brake lights not working but centre mount is!!
the problem is most likely in the turn signal switch. the power for the left and right brake lights goes through the turn signal switch, but power for the center mount comes straight from the brake light switch. this allows the brake light to be turned of so the turn signal can operate as they use the same filimant in the bulb.

1 - are you SURE theyre the right bulbs! - if theyre too bright they can blow the fuse, if theyre the wrong type of bulb they will blow the fuse..
best get the bulbs direct from ford, they are always in stock, so are the proper fuses.
2 - theres a center brakelight isnt there? check this bulb too for proper wattage and size/shape
Other than that maybe the wiring in the boot is damaged and shorting??
