Is there anyway to tell if recirc door is blocking vent b4 purchasing one?

99% chance it is the blower resister located behind glove box. Squeeze glove box in and pull out.
The resistor is right behind it, dealer part cost less then $20.
Dodge has had this problem for over ten years and until recently did nothing. Now they combine fuse with resistor, suppose that will correct it?

the most probabale cause of this would be a disfunctional hear core if you replace your heater your heater will more than likley work the the way it's supposed to

Hope you have the same set up, sure you do. You may have either crossed your vaccum lines or when you were putting your heater/ac box back together or you may of pinched the vents somewhat closed. Cycle through the different zones to ensure the vents are moving as your are selecting (defrost, floor, ect...) If you think the vaccum lines are correct then you may have a reassembly issue with the Heater/ac box. I had the same problem with my 2000 Dodge Ram 4x4. Use the KISS rule "keep it simple stupid" start with the vaccum lines and all your wiring to the motors, make sure everything is plugged in. Hopefully you'll find it there before going back into the box again.

It sounds like your electronic vent actuator has gone bad, it's common to go bad and may need to be replaced. There are tinny gears that wear out and the vent actuator stops working. You can try this, turn the radio off first so you don't have to enter the reset code to activate your radio. Disconnect the battery for 30 seconds and reconnect it, if the actuator has lost it's base line and stuck in the open heat position, this will reset it, just make sure the setting is to cold and off before disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. If this does not work, then it's a bad actuator and Auto Zone should have the part you need and will have the step by step instructions for you to the job you self, I believe the dealer is a $415,00 repair cost for this. There is a actuator on the right side of your leg while sitting in the drivers seat under the dash. It has a plastic rod for actuation manually actuate this diverter and should be the problem.
