I changed the gas cap and vapor can purge valve and the light will still not go out
SOURCE: have a p449 code on my 2003 silverado
P0449 and P0455 has to do with the Evap Canister control solenoid which causes a large vacuum leak. I think the replacement part number is 19207763. The part is located back by the fuel tank, mounted to its side.

Evaporative Emission (EVAP) how to find a leak without replacing canister on chevy silverado 1500
SOURCE: fault code p0440 CHevy venture
I had that exact code a couple weeks ago. Mine needed new oxygen sensors. They(there are 2, only one was throwing a code, but I had both replaced) cost a little over $100 to have replaced.
Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (no purge flow
or large leak)
What does that mean?
This indicates a fuel vapor leak or lack of purge flow in the EVAP control
system. It means a large leak has been detected. The (EVAP) emission control
system prevents the escape of fuel vapors from a vehicle's fuel system. Fuel
vapors are routed by hoses to a charcoal canister for storage. Later, when the
engine is running a purge control valve opens allowing intake vacuum to siphon
the fuel vapors into the engine.
Symptoms
You likely won't notice any drivability problems.
Causes
