1991 vw jetta no start, just cranks plus i no longer can here my fuel pump but the fuse isn't blown should you here it even tho it's built up enough pressure cause im not getting either spark or gas, it ran perfect on a perfect sunny day and died that same day so i know it's not a water issue any ideas would be great thx1991 vw jetta no start, just cranks plus i no longer can here my fuel pump but the fuse isn't blown should you here it even tho it's built up enough pressure cause im not getting either spark or gas, it ran perfect on a perfect sunny day and died that same day so i know it's not a water issue any ideas would be great thx

Car starts and idles perfect and wakes up about 4k and pulls hard from there on. Just bought the car so I did the basic tune up plugs wires cap rotor then tried fuel filter and relay, distributor, Coil, MAF. tested TPS sensor ranges from .5v-4volts. Getting ready to pull timing cover off and check timing and then on to fuel pressure. Also worth mentioning, crank case breather has quite a bit of pressure as if it has blowby but the strange part is as the engine revs the pressure continues to decrease to almost no pressure by 4k rpm. What am I missing?Car starts and idles perfect and wakes up about 4k and pulls hard from there on. the fuel pump and timing belt are not components for spark did you check distributor- points -coil -plugs-wires ignition switch -fuses and relays ----didnt specify engine if diesel need to check glow plugs
change the ignition pick up coil assembly normally located on the distributor under the rotor on the bottom of the distributor or just replace the distributor
Sounds like you replaced alot of parts for nothing. The pickup coil in the distributor "fires" the module which grounds the coil and the injectors. Those components would need to be tested. The coil fires the plugs when the ground is removed by the module or the key switch.
No spark is uasually caused by a faulty coil or the trigger unit, both are inside the distributor. Get a used distributor fron a scrap yard (about $4o) and replace yours.Remove the dis.cap and turn the engine until the rotor is pointing to fire # 1 cyclinder, and mark the exact position of the base before removing from the block." Do not turn the engine" Install the other Dist. with the base in exactly the same position and the rotor pointing exactly to # 1 cyclinder. Note. Failing to install the other dist.exactly the way you took the first one out will throw the timing out!!!!! Be doing all of this be sure there is no spark. Naz
