SOURCE: Where is the AC Low pressure valve on a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix?

sometimes its behind the alternator real close to the firewall. Find the bigger of the two hoses and pipes the low side is always bigger. Also the cap is blue and the fitting for the charging can will only fit on the right valve.

SOURCE: diagram for surpentine belt installation 1999 grand prix

My sincere apologies for the delayed response.
I am personally going back to answer your unanswered questions.
I have only been a free contributor to this site for the past 4-months.

I do not know if you still need this information, but I am going ahead and answering it anyway.

CLICK
on the following LINK. It has the Belt Diagrams you will need.

The standard rule to removal the Serpentine Belt:
1. Find the Tensioner(s). (See Diagrams on Link)
2. Rotate/Move the Tensioner away from contact with the belt and towards the area where the belt is not in contact with the Tensioner Pulley. The Tensioner is spring loaded, and is hard to rotate/move.

3. Remove the loosened belt off one of the other more easily accessed Pulleys.

How do I disconnect the a/c compressor and remove it in order to install a bypass pulley on my 1997 grand prix

you can save some time by leaving the ac compressor on and just getting a bypass belt from a parts place that bypasses the ac compressor it will save you some time and possibly some money. hope this helps.

1999 gran prix a/c is blowing hot air, but was working last year. Put in freon and still does not cool

first turn the ac off and then start the engine. you may want to lift the hood so you can hear the next step better. turn on the ac and within a couple seconds not more than 5 or so you should hear a click sound. This is the ac clutch engaging. if you don't hear a click you can double check the compressor has engaged by looking to see that the center of the ac compressor is turning with the outer pulley. if it is not most likely you don't have enough refrigerant in the system. i would suggest getting an ac pressure tester they are fairly inexpensive but this will tell you for certain if you have enough refrigerant or not.

How to replace the ac compressor in a 1997 grand prix

Take it to a shop and have it professionaly replaced. You will not have the necessary machine/equipment to properly evacuate and recharge the a/c system after replacing the compressor.
If you do, please make sure they also replace the recevier/drier at the same time or you likely will have no warranty on the compressor and can very likely cause further problems later on.
