Chevrolet lacetti
Hi Barry, Have a diagnostic scan carried out on the vehicle. Just as a matter of interest, do you know with vehicles fitted with air bags, it is very inadvisable to smoke or hold any sharp object while driving. If the air bag is triggered, the force of its operation can cause that type of object to cause serious injury Regards John

In most cases this problem is caused by the rotating ribbon circuit contact under the steering wheel having a broken filament, the part is known as a clock spring contact, u will need to properly disarm the airbag and remove the steering wheel to access the part. WARNING: Failure to follow factory Airbag disarming protocol can result in an unexpected Airbag deployment and possible serious personnel injury or death.

Hi,
BMWs usually have a peculiar problem with unnecessary warning lights especially as they get older in use. I don't think this is of any hazard except that you need to check the fuse box in the bonnet that has to do with electrical connections.
Cheers

Usually it is the plug and socket under the seats, they get unrelliable with use of the seat, feel underneath the front seats, or look if you can and see if they are looking OK if so you will need to unplug them and tighten the terminals with a really small screwdriver, be gentle, if this works get a nylon cable tie around them to stop the strain on the terminals when the seat moves.
