I have a 98 sentra se 5spd. I unlocked my driver door as normal with the key, the previous owners lost the keyless remotes. The alarm went off but my driver door still unlocked. I have followed the manual's instructions on how to shut off the alarm, but it doesn't work. Is there anyway to reset the alarm without the remotes? Is it a bad relay? All of the fuses are good. Thanks

GOT OPTION "ENTER AND GO"???????????????

mines turned off for ever,
i never armed it.
so page what.
wow 6 owners manuals, 4 for Uconnect, wow. pain.
page 22. read that?
sure.
is this not clear ,quoted
The Vehicle Security Alarm is designed to protect your
vehicle; however, you can create conditions where the
Vehicle Security Alarm will arm unexpectedly. If you
remain in the vehicle and lock the doors with the RKE
transmitter, once the Vehicle Security Alarm is armed
(after 16 seconds), when you pull the door handle to exit,
the alarm will sound. If this occurs, press the UNLOCK
button on the RKE transmitter to disarm the Vehicle
Security Alarm. You may also accidentally sound the
Vehicle Security Alarm by unlocking the driver's door
with the key and then opening the door
good luck deciphering this page, wow.!
page 23 is NO ENTER AND GO', OPTION.
Either press the UNLOCK button on the RKE transmitter,
pull on the front driver or passenger door handle (refer to
"Keyless Enter-N-Go" in "Things To Know Before Starting
Your Vehicle" for further information) with a valid
key fob in range, or press the Keyless Enter-N-Go Start/
Stop button (requires at least one valid Key Fob in the
vehicle), or insert a valid Key Fob into the ignition switch
(if the Start/Stop button is removed) and rotate it to the
ON/RUN position.

if all this fails get jeep to fix it. (the magic is broken so...)
or ask them to explain, page 23 , in non GREEK..
It sounds like the key sensor in the drivers door is malfunctioning, the drivers door is the only door that can enable/disable the alarm, if you try to unlock any of the others it will trigger the alarm.
Sometimes with my Kia I have to (without opening the door), cycle lock and unlock several times before the alarm is disarmed.
Have you tried this is succession, with all the doors locked:-
put the key in the drivers door, turn to lock and then to unlock, the alarm should disarm.
Also, if any of the door locks are jammed, the alarm will still activate when you try to unlock the drivers door.
If that fails and the alarm still activates, then it's a problem with the key sensor in the door.
Opening the drivers door with the key is supposed to shut down the factory security but the drivers key cylinder usually goes bad. You will have to unlock the rear tail gate lock cylinder with the key and that will shut down the factory security, before opening the drivers door.Your other option is to have an aftermarket keyless entry system installed, which will open the doors remotely while shut down the factory security at the same time.
yes the remotes do have batteries. how ever that might be your problem or the remotes lost its code for programing. step when turning alarm off---- if its a factory alarm put the key in the drivers door when the door is closed and lock then unlock it thats the manuel shut down for factory. step 2------- aftermarket alarm. look for a valet switch most likely it would be installed by the driver kick panel or by the under dash fuse box. when u find it put the key into the ignition. turn it to the run position. within 3 seconds press and hold the valet switch for 3 to 5 seconds you should here a confirmation chirp and the led light will stay on solid and wont blink give it a world let me know what happens
The fuse for the alarm is under the hood. Give a good look and you should find it. Once you have pulled it it will deactivate the alarm I am not sure if this is exactly your problem since you said that the car wont start.... but it is worth a try.
Lock all the doors from the inside (with all the doors closed), unlock your driver's door by manually lifting the lock, then press it back down after you are out - this will prevent the alarm from sounding when you use the key to unlock the door.
The ignition security on/off is located at the trunk lock. unlock and lock rear gate and the alarm will turn off. My jeep sat in my drive for a month before a jeep tech told me this. It still triggers the security sometimes when I unlock the passenger door with the key and I go straight to the rear gate lock and it shuts off instantly.
