Many many reasons, camshaft drive chain failure (2.7 V6) is one, no spark is another, no fuel pressure is another, if not cranking over with the starter then the battery can be the cause or the cables to it are loose or corroded.
First make sure that the new battery has plenty of charge, and isn't faulty. The starter motor uses a solenoid to engage with the engine. If the starter is spinning, but doesn't connect, it may mean that the solenoid isn't receiving power, or that it is faulty. If you are confident with mechanics, you could take it out, run it unmounted. Then you could see clearly if the solenoid is engaging or not.
There is a panel in the right side inner fender that you need to remove to find your battery[i know ,why why why].You may need to pull the right front tire off to gain access to it.
Did you check to see if your old starter was any good, you may have a bad spot on your fly wheel and it is getting caught up on the bad spot and it want start try turning your fly wheel of the bad spot and then try to start it.
