Intermittently stops and can be shifted to neutral and restarted.More
often at slow speeds it can be avoided by depressing accelerator
as it slows down. Driving over bumpy area does not cause any problem
( bad ground ). Recently while parked and idling and turning on all
possible loads caused rpm's to drop and stop engine.
I suspect an IAC (Idle Air Control) valve fault, or it could just be that the idle speed requires adjustment. Have you had a flat battery or a battery replacement recently? This can cause the computer to loose its learned idle settings and bring up these sort of issues. The idle should relearn itself in this situation after a few days, but sometimes requires resetting properly.
A competent auto technician should be able to diagnose and rectify a fault like this quickly, the idle systems are not too complicated on these vehicles.

Sounds pretty good ,except having the engine shut off at 55mph
and shifting into neutral I was able to restart the engine, Would
this not be an IAC problem.?
What about the possibility of an alternator ( voltage regulator )
failure ?
...this has been occurring for about 10 mo..Sometimes going
2 weeks without a problem.( although more prevalent now ).
thanks
