My blazer was driving on a slightly uphill road last night when it shut down like it was out of gas. It has half tank, but when electrical is turned on, it shows empty tank. After cranking a few minutes with a rest, I heard what sounded like a trickle of fluid in the engine. I immediately cranked and it started right up.
The next morning, it fired up for 5 seconds in the driveway which also faces uphill, then died the same way. The truck again didn't fire up for twenty minutes or so, then cranked up strong as ever. I took it to the shop sure that it was the fuel pump, but they can't duplicate problem. "The fuel pressure looks great" ... and they don't want to change the pump if they aren't sure about it.
Truck has 140K on it... any ideas?!?

I don't know the pressure. The shop told me it looked good.
Did the truck ever have a fuel pump replaced? If it did it might have been put in the wrong way, where it is away from all the gas when its low enought and going up a hill.
it could be your fuel pump relay
what is the fuel pressure?
