SOURCE: how do you check transmission fluid level in an

your car does not have a dip stick for the transmission! audi say its sealed for life. most people believe that this is not true! there is a sunken 17mm hex key in the transmission pan. its very tight! the transmission is filled through this hole until it overflows. there are other requirements. such as the car has to be idling in gear and the temperature of the fluid within a certain range to get an accurate level. not a job for the faint hearted. there is a great write up on how to do this here, http://www.audipages.com/Tech_Articles/auto_transmission/autotranservicing.html;

SOURCE: fill transmission fluid on 19999 audi a4

LISTEN CLOSE. THERE IS A PLUG ON PAN. REMOVE IT. WITH A SYRINGE TYPE CANISTER YOU NEED TO INJECT THE FLUID INTO IT UNTIL IT STARTS TO COME OUT. THEN CAREFULLY START VEHICLE AND INJECT ANOTHER 3/4 QUART UNLESS IT STARTS TO COME OUT OR EVEN A QUART.LET IT RUN FOR 5 MINUTES THEN CONTINUE TO INSERT UNTIL IT OVERFLOWS AND TIGHTEN THE PLUG BACK TO THE PAN. i WOULD ONLY USE AUDI VOLKSWAGON FLUID AND YES IT CAN RUN $14 TO $18 A LITER

SOURCE: how do i change transmission fluid on audi a4 1.8t

Drain fluid with drain plug on bottom of pan.Remove pan and change filter. Reinstall pan with new gasket torque to factory spec.Have car on level ground.Remove fill plug on side of pan.Install new fluid with pump and hose. You can use old gear oil bottle and hose.Fill to bottom of fill hole. Put foot on brake with car running shift though all gears.Go back to fill plug and top off till it runs out hole.This should do it.

My Audi A4 can not select gear

Manual or automatic? In either case, check the linkage- it sounds be broken, and the transmission fluid level. If you have a manual it could be your clutch. If automatic, then you could need a new transmission.

What grade (or part number) of automatic transmission fluid do I put into a 2008 Audi A6 S-line. The car has a 2.0 TDi with 6 speed automatic (tiptronic) gearbox

It is imperative you use the correct fluid in your Audi tiptronic transmission. Look in your owners manual for the correct fluid. If you do not have an owners manual call your local Audi dealer or better yet drive to one and purchase Audi Pentosin A/T fluid from the dealer. Do not use Dexron III as it is not designed for the Triptonic transmission. A transmission is very expensive to replace so do not take any chances and just buy your fluid from your Audi dealer even though you may pay a little more. That way you are 100% sure you are using the correct fluid.

1997 AUDI A6 HOW MANY QUARTS TRANSMISION FLUIDS IT TAKES

Most of the time a vehicle will take between 6-8 quartz of transmission fluid. Just keep checking as you fill, so you don't overfill it and blow a seal.
