The car makes a loud buzzing sound when the car is started cold. The sound goes away when the car warms up. The car idles rough in reverse and drive but is hardly noticeable except when you press the brakes. Also, when driving on the freeway the car seems to struggle to accelerate at times and change gears. Please help!
I would suggest hat you replace the timing belt. The noise that you hear is the belt.
If your timing belt is stretched, it will flap and rattle when cold, and the noise will subside when the engine warms up. Also, if the belt is noisy, it is indeed stretched. A stretched belt will cause the engine to run slightly "out of time", and you performance will be compromised. Replace the belt, that should fix you right up.
I'd appreciate a FIxYa (4 blue diamonds) Rating.

I have a 2008 dodge charger se. I recently noticed a grinding/whining sound coming from underneath my car. When I turn it seems to get worse.. within a few hours it was really noticable. Makes the sound when idling or driving
