How do I replace battery in remote for 1999 Crown Vic

Trying to get the remote to work on 1999 Crown Vic, I think the remote battery is down, also the dash light up by the VIN is flashing, key pad on door works with security code, car will start and run with the key, but the remote will not function as it once did - are there any issue in changing the battery inside the remote??

Remote needs to be taken apart either by a small screwdriver, or by finding the small tabs on the side and separating the two halves of the remote. Button cell batteries.

SOURCE: 1999 crown vic keeps getting air locked at the fuel rail?

check your fuel pressure
if you dont have enough pressure this will happen
when the fuel pressure is good the system will just push the air out through the injectors or the fuel return line

The temperature gauge sending unit is located in the front section of the intake manifold, just to the right of the alternator on the 4.6L engines. Got this from autozones repair manuals

1999 ford crown vic won't start. changed fuel

Maybe your problem is with the one or many injectors, if just one is bad, you will have problems. Get yourself a multimeter and set it to read in ohms and find what spec the injectors should be at. If out of spec, then you need to replace that one injector(s).

1999 crown vic wont start

Are you saying it won't crank, or won't start ?
If it does not crank, and you have replaced the battery and starter, the problem may be in the neutral safety switch.

1999 FORD CROWN VIC. 4.6 - PROBLEM, NOISE

This is caused by the IAC valve. Over time the valve becomes gummy and inoperative. Get it replaced and the problem is solved. IAC stands for idle air control, hence the stalling concern.

Bad coil pack on crown vic

well if you have checked the spark plugs and they look good then its probly the coil If the plugs have never been replaced i would start with a tune up and see if this fixes the problem. If not there is no good way for you to test it you would need a computer to hook up to the car

1997 Crown Vic blows radio fuses

The quickest way to find a short circuit is by putting a bulb in place of the fuse. Anytime the time the bulb lights there is a load. And if the load is a shorted wire the brightness of the bulb will give you a hint. So while you're at it, finding a 'short' is a quicky...keep your eyes on the bulb. gotcha!

1997 Crown Vic blows radio fuses

Try checking all the grounds for the radio, over time they can weeken. If that doesn't work, put in a new ground wire with a heavier gauge, that should fix it. It sounds like a ground problem.

Good luck, Daniel
