My husband has a 99 Pontiac bonneville and the car wont start. The security light keeps coming on and it wont start the car. He waits like 10 mins til the security light goes off, then cranks it up again and it still wont come on!! Please help!! Is there any way to take the security off??

You can measure the ohms of resistance in the key chip in the middle of the key then buy 1 or more resistors from radio shack and bypass the key reader if your mecanically inclined i think i can walk you through it via live support
hi im wes if you are mechanically inclined i think i can walk you though it via live help. if you measure the ohms of resistance between each side of the key chip on 20k then let me know the reading i can tell you what resistors to buy at radioshack and walk you through fooling the key reader i had the same problem on my buick

When you locked your car did you use the fob to lock the car? If so close the car door and unlock the car using the fob!! If you use the remote/fob to lock the car you must use it to unlock the car otherwise the car will not start and will stay in Security mode. I have a 99 as well and found that little trick out lol.
