Have a 2000 mazda m i keep on getting code p1522 and o2 sensor bank 1 sensor 2 i put a new sensor still light comes on i switched sensors from bank 2 senwsor 2 too bank `1 sensor 2 light stays off longer but still comes back on u think it might be a pcm
P1522 is not an O2 code in any Mazda model. Please go to this LINK and read about it.

is this a 4 or 6 cylinder?
if a 4 cylinder it will only have 2 o2 sensors
V6 will have 4 o2 senors which the sensor will be the right side of the engine first sensor.
1st sensor on exhaust, I recommend if you change one change all, as this will make the computer when it rechecks the system you have all clean/fast responding sensors.
if you have a slow response it means the sensor is dirty and not reading well, which is usually caused by minor misfires that the engine computer dismisses, so a tune up would be recommended too.

Bank 1 is the frt side exhaust manifold (did they say bank 1 sensor 1?),you can start by replacing that sensor,i would check the intake for leaks ,the gm 6cly. are known for bad intake gaskets, you will see oil coming out form the frt or rear of the intake, also check your atifreeze overflow bottle for bronwish sludge, which means that the oil is mixing with the antifreeze.A leaking intake could cause that lean condition.

you should have three oxygen sensors on your car, one for each bank of three cylinders; should be towards the Y pipe on each exhaust manifold. Additionally you should have one on the exhaust pipe before the cadilitic converter.

I had the same problem and found out I was sold the wrong sensor, my 4.0 has four, they are all different, when you install a new sensor, you must make sure you clear the trouble code before you start the engine, ignition on engine off, that should do it, it worked for me, also if you have your own scanner and can erase the codes yourself, the wrong 02 sensor will turn engine light on with cold start, then after I erased the code it would stay off all day until the next cold start, thats when I found out my new 02 sensor was for bank 1 sensor 2, and not bank 2 sensor 1, hope this helps

there is a fuse for the o2 heaters if one of the sensors blew the fuse they will all be out
