Idle jumping up and down

I changed the sparkplugs in the 2003 Nissan Altima and cleaned out the throttle body with some cleaner and now the car idles at 1500 rmp and then starts jumping up and down at idle from 500 to 2000 rpm. What caused this and what do I do to fix it?

Throttle bodies on altima 2.5l engine do not have throttle rods. They work off the computer in the car. They also don't have TPS sensors on the T.B.I. it's on the gas pedal.

IDLE AIR CONTROL

I think there is a recall with idle speed in that year altima. check your dealership for recalls and idle adjustment. if it has high miles try spraying throttle cleaner into the throttle body. (spray it directly in throttle body not the mass air flow sensor on the air box) when its idling. worst case you'll need a new throttle body

Wont idle down

your IAC idle air control sensor is probably gunked up and if it is so is your throttle body...also check all vacuum line for integrity..i found a bad hose going to my MAP sensor..both of this caused problems.
Clean the IAC with throttle body cleaner not carb cleaner, and dont clean the map sensor its contolled by air vacuum, just replace the hose if found cracked, if its bad you have to replace it it cant be adjusted.

2003 corolla iac service ?

Well, Allan, nothing jumps out at me! You could start by changing those plugs and cleaning the throttle body and butterfly with some good carb cleaner. I know that small carbon deposits can effect idle and can cause a rolling characheristic. Cleaning the IAC, throttle body and MAF (Masss Airflow Sensor) can do wonders. Use electrical cleaner to spray off the MAF not carb cleaner, it is the hair thin wire located inline just after the air cleaner element. You probably already know all of this, but hope it helps out!!

Abnormal idling when I am about to make a stop

the throttle body air valve or throttle valve needs cleaning.it has a little carbon build up.it will cause it to idle high.get gum out throttle body cleaner. remove all electrical components.also all plastic and rubber parts the gum out cleaner will destroy it. also replace throttle body gasket.
